Story:
This oceanfront home was meant to be a retreat for a family based in San Diego. They wanted to come up to Newport Beach to enjoy the boardwalk, beach, and entertain their friends. The home has 180-degree ocean views. We wanted to create a clean, low-maintenance, user-friendly, and open space in the design. Robust materials to handle the salty beach environment and sun were used on the design. A large, cantilevered deck extends out towards the boardwalk, creating views up and down the coast. The large overhang also created a comfortable shaded seating area on the boardwalk for entertaining, people watching and enjoying the beach.
