Story:

Designed as a vacation home for a young family, this home took advantage of the views of the rugged and beautiful New Mexico landscape. Indoor-outdoor connection and view optimization were key for the family, who wanted a place to unplug and connect with each other and nature.

We used an architectural language of stone bases that stepped down the hill to set the house on top of. Large overhangs and stone planter walls stretched into the landscape, celebrating the design and the site's horizontality. The long planter walls brought the native landscape into the home and established the project's primary organizing element and rhythm.
