STORY:
This couple hoped to create a family-centered house to host their adult children and grandchildren. Located a block from Inspiration Point in Newport Beach, the house was an ideal gathering spot for the family to come and enjoy the beach.
We used a calming neutral palette with limestone, naturally oiled Afromosia wood, bleached oak, textured plasters and champagne-colored metal. We wanted to embody a clean, contemporary look while creating a warm, calming, and livable space for the owners.
Two large glass sliders can be pocketed and hidden on the main level, opening the entire first floor. With the glass sliders hidden an outdoor space in the side yard and one in the front yard are connected, visually expanding the size of the home. Privacy gardens in the front and side were critical to using these “outdoor rooms.”
We designed the architecture, interiors, and pool on this property.
